The best gluten-free stocking stuffers

Got all your gluten-free Christmas gifts placed under the tree? If so, you might think you can breathe a sigh of relief that everything’s finally done. But wait, what’s that you see, hanging from the mantle? It’s your family’s Christmas stockings…and they’re woefully empty.

If you need to stuff the stocking of someone who’s gluten-free, don’t fret! There are so many fun treats you can pack into that stocking. Here are a few gluten-free stocking stuffer ideas that I recommend. (Santa, I hope you’re listening to this!)

Get your crunch on. Bare Snacks banana chips are a healthy way to get your crunchy snack fix satisfied. These gluten-free, no-oil baked snacks are crispier than the traditional banana chips you find in bulk bins at the grocery store. They come in delicious flavors like Cocoa Dusted, Simply Baked, and Cinnamon (my favorite). Find ‘em at your local Target store!

Take a trip to chocolate heaven. Alter Eco’s delicious certified gluten-free and organic chocolate bars are a welcome addition to anyone’s stocking. They’re free from artificial flavors and GMOs, and are fair trade certified. These delicious chocolate bars are made from high-quality chocolate and other delicious ingredients. Dark Blackout boasts 85% cocoa, Dark Quinoa is delightfully crispy, and Dark Salted Brown Butter is even more scrumptious than it sounds. You can buy them at your local Whole Foods store.

The perfect protein bar. If, like many Americans, you’re starting your new year by heading back to the gym, you’ll need something good to fuel your workouts. Enter Rise Bar, a protein bar for people who like to eat clean. These gluten-free bars are each packed with 15 to 20 grams of protein, plus simple, wholesome ingredients. Their flavors are delicious and different from the pack. The Sunflower Cinnamon, Cacao Banana, and Snickerdoodle bars can keep you energized and satisfied.

Keep hands properly hydrated. Do you love snickerdoodles? If so, Ulta’s Luxe Ultra-Rich Hand & Nail Cream in Coconut + Almond Milk is perfect for you. Just a little dollop of this rich hand cream will leave your hands feeling heavenly and your mouth watering for cookies. This hand cream really helps keep your skin from cracking and getting too dried out.

A healthier sweet treat. Coconut chips were one of my new favorite finds this year—they taste like candy, but they’re actually healthy! Dang’s toasted coconut chips contain minimal ingredients (the coconut is the star!) and are packed with healthy stuff like fiber and lauric acid. They’re free of gluten, cholesterol, dairy, and GMOs; they’re also vegan. Standout flavors include Savory Bacon (OMG, ridiculously good!) and Caramel Sea Salt.

Nut-free snacking on the go. If you need a great stocking stuffer for someone who has nut allergies in addition to Celiac or gluten intolerance, Sneaky Chef’s creamy No-Nut Butter to-go cups are a convenient addition. This butter is made primarily from yellow peas. The box of 1 oz. butter cups (6 per box) can help your free-from family member enjoy great snacks on the go, like Ants on a Log or pretzels dipped in no-nut butter.

A multitasking wonder. Coconut oil can be used for so many things. You can cook with it as well as use it as a beauty product (it can help condition your hair, moisturize your hand, and more). CVS/pharmacy’s Gold Emblem Abound refined coconut oil is a multi-use addition to anyone’s stocking. Substitute it for traditional cooking oils, use it in place of shortening, or try it as an ingredient in your baked goods. It’s non-GMO with no added sugars; the only ingredient is refined organic coconut oil!

Exotic snacks that are full of flavor. For the adventurous eater in your life, Zouq’s snacks are a perfect stocking stuffer! These healthy, gluten-free snacks are full of flavors and spices from far-off lands. Fiery Sticks are spicy little potato sticks, while Golden Lentils are mild and crunchy. Curry Crunch is a sweet and sour trail mix featuring chickpeas and peanuts, while Jubilee Mix features peas, chickpeas, and rice flakes paired with spices like coriander, fennel, cardamom, and turmeric.

A fun bathtime experience. Everybody’s gotta bathe. But bathing with a bar of soap isn’t always necessary. Enter Pura Naturals’ soap-infused sponges. The reusable, portable, plant-based sponges, which contain gluten-free soap, can help gently exfoliate dry winterized skin, plus help cleanse your skin of oil and impurities. All you have to do is wet them and squeeze them; that’s what activates these sponges’ rich lather. They come in fun scents that’ll wake you up in the morning, like Citrus Splash and Peppermint Volcano.

Yummy gummies. CVS/pharmacy’s Gold Emblem line of candies includes several gluten-free gummy treats that are also free from gelatin and artificial flavors and colors. Their Fruit Cubes jelly candy is a fun stocking stuffer idea. The bag is packed with sugar-coated gummies in four fruity flavors, and it’s resealable so you don’t have to eat them all at once (but trust me, you’ll be tempted).

The tastiest take-anywhere snack. KIND bars are my favorite easy-to-pack snack. I always have one in my purse and a few in my desk in case I need a healthy gluten-free pick-me-up. The KIND Nuts & Spices cube includes 20 KIND bars that are flavorful, filling, savory, and sweet. From Madagascar Vanilla Almond (my fave) to Cashew Ginger Spice and Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan, these innovative flavors are delightful and satisfying.

A healthy snack bar the kids will love. Can a snack really be healthy, delicious, and kid-friendly? Absolutely—just ask Yummy Snack! Their gluten-free snack bars boast that they taste “like your favorite candy bar—with fuel to take you far!” They only have 7-8 grams of sugar, and they have 7-8 grams of fiber, plus 2 grams of protein and 100 mg Omega-3s per bar. The chocolatey Cookie Dough bar is a standout flavor; other delish flavors include Chocolate, Coconut, and Peanut Butter.

A decadent, luscious treat. Royal Hawaiian’s new Dark Chocolate Blueberry Acai Macadamias and Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Mango Macadamias are amazingly delicious. They’re also dangerously addictive—they’re so good that it’s tough to stick to the correct serving size! I recommend pouring a few of these yummy gluten-free bites into your hand and closing the bag before you begin eating, or you may just chow down on the whole thing—yes, they’re that good!

Keep lips soft and soothed. Primal Pit Paste’s Vanilla Peppermint Pucker Paste is a great addition to any stocking. This lip balm has safe and healthy ingredients (all natural stuff that you can actually pronounce, like organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, and peppermint essential oil), and it both tastes and feels great on lips. The peppermint oil makes it have a slight tingle, which feels refreshing, and it tastes yummy too, kind of like a vanilla-kissed candy cane.
