Sweet stuff: New gluten-free Gold Emblem™ candies available at CVS/pharmacy
Previously, CVS/pharmacy’s exclusive brand, Gold Emblem Abound™, launched a variety of delicious gluten-free snack foods. Now CVS/pharmacy is back to satisfy your sweet tooth, too! This summer, they’ve rolled out three gluten-free gummy, fruit-flavored candy varieties.
Gold Emblem™ gummy candies
Gold Emblem gummy candies are free from gluten, artificial flavors and colors, gelatin, fat and GMOs. These gummy candies are a more wholesome treat for anyone looking to satisfy a sweet craving. The bags are resealable, making it easy for you to take just a couple candies to enjoy and then save the rest for later. Priced from $2.99, candies available include gummy bears, fruit cubes and fruit berry gummies.
The same flavors (berry, orange, lemon, and green apple) are used for the fruit cubes as well as the gummy bears. The fruit berry gummies include strawberry, blackberry, and other berry-licious flavors. All three varieties are packed with fruity flavor, chewy without being sticky, and smell and taste delicious. For me, the standout product was the fruit cubes; the gummy candies lightly coated in sugar are truly delightful, a perfect sweet treat.
Other new gluten-free snacks on the way
CVS/pharmacy’s not stopping at candy! Check out these other gluten-free snacks that are already at your local CVS/pharmacy, or will be available in the coming months:
- Single snack bars in Sea Salt & Dark Chocolate, Almond & Coconut, Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate and Almond & Cranberry (1.41 oz, $1.67): Hitting shelves now through October, these gluten-free single snack bars are also a good source of protein.
- Heavenly Light Popcorn in White Cheddar, Black Pepper (5oz, $2.19): Light and fluffy, this cholesterol free snack is also gluten-free and a great source of fiber. Available now, with Kettle Corn to come in October.
Keep an eye out for Fit Choices tags
CVS/pharmacy is trying hard to help make it easier for consumers to buy affordable healthy food choices. The company is expanding its in-store tagging program, Fit Choices, which takes the guesswork out of finding healthier options. Fit Choices tags can be found on store shelving, product displays and coolers, identifying foods throughout the store that fit certain criteria or offer specific nutritional benefits. This year, the tagging program adds “Non-GMO Verified” and “Good Source of Protein” to the existing categories: “Heart Healthy,” “Sugar Free,” “Gluten Free” and “Organic.”
