New year, new smile with Colgate Optic White
When you eat gluten-free for medical reasons, you need to worry about the gluten status of all products—not just food and beverages—that get into your mouth. One product that many people forget to check before buying is a product that gets used every day: toothpaste.
One of the reasons I stick to using Colgate® products is because I am confident that the Optic White® products—which are my favorite ones to use—are gluten-free. (You may have to dig a little on the Colgate “frequently asked questions” section of the website to find this information, or just see my screenshot below.) Plus, many Colgate toothpastes have “gluten free” marked right on the box, which makes it easy to pick out a safe-for-me toothpaste when I’m out at the grocery store.
As someone who drinks tea every morning, it’s important for me to combat the dreaded tea stains on my teeth with a powerful suite of whitening oral care products. Enter Colgate Optic White and its line of whitening products, which can help keep your mouth healthy, with sparkling white teeth. The newest addition to the Optic White family is the Colgate® Optic White® PLATINUM™ Express White Toothpaste, which is Colgate’s fastest whitening toothpaste available to date. I was sent a tube of this toothpaste to review for the purposes of this article.
Colgate advertises that you can have whiter teeth in just three days just by using the Optic White® PLATINUM™ Express White Toothpaste. They weren’t kidding—after just a few days, I was excited to notice that my teeth looked a little brighter. I love being able to use this toothpaste to help me keep my teeth looking good in between twice-yearly cleanings at my dentist’s office.
Want to know the secret ingredient in this toothpaste? It’s hydrogen peroxide! Colgate® Optic White® PLATINUM™ Express White Toothpaste contains twice the amount of hydrogen peroxide than is in other Colgate Optic White toothpastes, such as the Sparkling Mint flavor. That’s what helps keep your smile looking whiter more quickly. The toothpaste is safe for daily use, and in addition to helping to whiten your teeth, it also helps protect your teeth’s enamel. Plus, it also contains anti-cavity fluoride protection (say sayonara to that loud drill at your dentist’s office!).
In addition to the Colgate® Optic White® PLATINUM™ Express White Toothpaste, the Optic White family also includes a Toothbrush and Whitening Pen ($14.99 at mass retailers and grocery stores) that could help keep your teeth clean and white. This toothbrush is made with whitening cups and polishing bristles to remove surface stains from your teeth. The bottom of the toothbrush is where the whitening pen hangs out; like the toothpaste, the whitening pen’s gel also contains hydrogen peroxide. The best part about the whitening pen? No waiting, no rinsing!
There’s also a mouthwash that goes along with the other whitening products: Colgate® Optic White® WhiteSeal® Mouthwash. This is the mouthwash that I always buy at the grocery store; I love how it provides another layer of whitening and stain prevention. The Icy Fresh Mint flavor tastes good and is great at freshening breath.
As with any teeth whitening products, they tend to work their best the longer you use them. So for the sake of your teeth’s health as well as keeping your smile bright and sparkly, don’t forget to brush twice a day, floss at least once a day, and swish your mouthwash, too!
If you’re looking to purchase the Colgate® Optic White® PLATINUM™ Express White Toothpaste, look for it at your local grocery store, drugstore, or mass retailer.
