Easy gluten-free dips to pair with Glutino’s new Big Pretzels
Being a Philly girl, I know a thing or two about pretzels. I’ve grown up surrounded by the best pretzels in the country, and until I went gluten-free, I took them for granted. Since going gluten-free, I’ve sampled pretty much every safe-for-me pretzel available, and although I’ve found some that I’ve enjoyed, I haven’t found any that I’ve gone bonkers about…until now.
Glutino just released Big Pretzels, which are quite a bit larger than their standard pretzel twists. Their size, hardness, and texture remind me of my former favorite, the Unique Splits pretzels I used to love before I had to stop eating gluten. I like that it takes me several bites to enjoy the Big Pretzel and I can’t just wolf it down like I do with the regular-sized pretzel twists. It takes effort to break these pretzels into smaller pieces, and because they’re so sturdy, they hold up well with dips.
And speaking of dips… Since these are Big Pretzels, the best thing to pair them with is dips with big flavor. Keep reading for easy-to-make, delicious gluten-free dips that will keep you dippin’ and dunkin’ until the bag of pretzels is empty!
Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip: What goes better with pretzels than bacon and cheese? This easy dip takes only 5 minutes to prepare. Bonus: It makes a fun and colorful addition to your table!
Spinach Dip: While spinach dip can prove challenging for those who are gluten-free (because the onion soup mix, a necessary ingredient in many spinach dip recipes, often contains wheat), if you can find a gluten-free onion soup mix, you’re golden. I’ve found gluten-free onion soup mixes at Redner’s and Dollar Tree here in Pennsylvania. If you have one of those mixes, you can easily make this super-simple Spinach Dip. Note: This will need to be refrigerated for 8 hours, so be sure to make it ahead of time if you think you’re going to have a craving for it.
French Onion Dip: This flavorful dip is not just gluten-free—it’s vegan, too. Normally such a dip is loaded with dairy, but not this time—soy-free Vegenaise is the magic ingredient. This is a great dip not just for Big Pretzels, but also for chips!
Black Bean Dip: If you want to add a little protein to your snack, this dip is a great choice. Here, protein- and fiber-rich black beans are combined with spices, onion, and jalapenos for a dip that’s full of fun and flavor!
Fruit Dip: Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it! Fruit dips taste good with more than just fruit. If you’re looking for a sweeter dip for your Big Pretzels, this 3-ingredient Fruit Dip is a great choice. Make your snack even healthier by serving cut-up fruit alongside your pretzels and dip!
Easy Cheesy Chili Dip: For a heartier snack, dip Big Pretzels in this meaty chili dip. It only has four ingredients and is incredibly easy to prepare. This warm dip is great for your Big Game party or a cold winter night when you want a filling snack!
Chocolate Fondue: I’ve saved the best for last! Who doesn’t love dipping pretzels into chocolate? And since they’re BIG pretzels, that means BIG chocolate—even better! This simple recipe is very allergy-friendly and includes dairy-free options, too.
Glutino’s Big Pretzels are already in stores—I found some in my local Whole Foods last night. But before you go to the store, be sure to grab a coupon for $1 off any Glutino product! Go get yourself a bag, and have fun dipping!
